Founder of OP 10.33 Appointed to A&M Board of Regents

A successful business owner and philanthropist, Micheal Albert “Mike” Hernandez III is the CEO of D&M Leasing in Dallas-Fort Worth and the founder of OP 10.33, a 20-year project dedicated to transforming Cameron County into a land of opportunity by 2033. Born in Brownsville, Mike Hernandez III is one of the appointed members to the Texas A&M University Board of Regents.

Appointed by Governor Greg Abbott, Mike Hernandez III is joined by Jay Graham, the CEO of Spur Energy Partners and Michael J. Plank, the CEO of The Plank Companies, Inc, on the board. Together, they assume the responsibility of presiding over and managing the administration and policies encompassing the school's statewide network of 11 universities and seven state agencies. They must provide undergraduate and graduate students with quality education, advance research and technology, and perform public service outreach to distribute programs that will benefit A&M’s university network across the state.
Mr. Hernandez III has a long history with Texas A&M University which started 40 years ago when he earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution from the school. He was part of the Advisory Committee for the Texas A&M University’s McAllen Campus. He also partnered with the university’s nonprofit arm, Texas A&M Foundation, to establish the Brownville Scholars Program.
